Since its founding in 2001, Schwalbenliebe has combined craftsmanship and passion. Originally launched as a graphic design label, it now unites profession and calling in fashion design. With a penchant for the 1950s and feminine silhouettes, we design sewing patterns, accessories, instructions, and plotter files, focusing on making good design with a touch of vintage accessible to every woman. Following the credo DESIGN OR DIE, we create well-fitting DIY sewing patterns and are happy to bring them to your wardrobe in print and as eBooks.

Our company specializes in developing high-quality sewing patterns and offers our customers a wide range of custom designs. We design and construct all patterns to perfectly meet the needs of the end customer. In addition to designing the patterns, we also take care of the layout of the instructions, ensuring they are clear and easy to understand. We print and distribute our own paper patterns to guarantee our customers receive the best possible quality.

Nikolett founded her own graphic design agency, schwalbenliebe®, as a counterbalance to agency life and her job.

The graphic design label expanded its offerings to include the design of sewing patterns. The first trilogy of patterns, consisting of Sommerlieb, Wolkenlos, and Regentag, was introduced and is still considered a classic among SL's vintage patterns.

Schwalbenliebe opened its first design and pattern studio in the Potsdam computer center and expanded it a year later to include a sewing school.
In addition, coaching sessions are offered and in-house sewing courses are held.

The new online shop on the Shopify platform has been successfully launched, leading to a decision to leave the large marketplace Makerist. Additionally, professional customer support has been set up to handle all inquiries.

The first paper sewing patterns are going to print and are now a permanent part of our repertoire.

With the move into their own house called Schwabennest, many new opportunities arise and a studio for recordings is expanded.

The plans for the studio are taking shape, and in addition to sewing patterns, online workshops are also planned. Thanks to the purchase of a plotter, paper patterns can now be created in-house. A book about vintage fashion in the modern age is in the works, and Schwalbenliebe has introduced the four-day workweek based on the Icelandic model.
